Reincarnation means we have lived it all. We have been tall and small, weak and powerful, gregarious and shy. But what is the point of this wheel that turns incessantly as we adorn different masks and costumes we call lives, bodies, incarnations?
This song reminds us that each turn of the wheel is but temporary and so connects us to The All, The Everything, that we are truly from and which we return fully back into being. The singular, individual and personal lives that we identify with are not in truth what we are. We are The Everything.
Was I too weak?
Was I too meek?
Was I too brash, too loud?
Was I too proud?
All these games that we played
These masks that we wore
Leading to come to that final frontier
Longing to touch what was already there,
Already there
Chorus
And at the end of time
when all is said, all is done,
I am…The Everything, The Everything,
my arms are wide, all-encompassing.
And as we return
from this distant place, this human dream,
we return…as The Everything, The Everything,
the fire inside, all-enveloping.
And I know what I am
And what I’m not
In each face on the street
In each brother I meet
All these games that we played
These masks that we wore
Leading to come to that final frontier
Longing to touch what was already there,
Already there
Chorus
